Digital Marketing Business Development Executive

Intro

We are a highly ambitious digital marketing agency looking to add a business development executive to our expanding team.

This is a new role within the agency, with sales currently handled by the directors. As such, this will allow you to have direct input into how we operate and give you the opportunity to shape your own role.

This is the perfect role someone with a digital marketing background who is looking for a change of career or an experienced business development executive looking to work in an exciting digital agency environment.

The Job

Initially, the role will focus on supporting the company directors with sales activities while you learn more about the agency, our services, approach and how we go about sales. You will work closely with the directors, having an input into our marketing strategy and sales process, attending meetings and helping to create sales documentation.

Once you are more familiar with the agency, you will become more autonomous, handling your own meetings and leads, having your own targets and taking responsibility for outbound sales activity.

As an agency, we do not use “hard sell” techniques or pursue every opportunity we are presented with (our growth has been fuelled 100% by inbound leads to-date). Instead, we focus on a consultative sales approach, understanding the client, making sure we are a good fit and highlighting our relevant experience and expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Working on sales leads with one of the directors
  • Attending sales meetings with a director
  • Handling smaller sales meetings individually
  • Creation of sales proposals based on project plans
  • Managing the sales pipelines and following up with leads
  • Project handovers to the team
  • Production and improvement of sales materials:
    • Case studies
    • Proposal documents
    • Presentations
  • Working with the technical team to improve our website and boost inbound leads
  • Outbound sales activities:
    • Outbound sales calls and emails
    • Sourcing RFPs
    • Networking
    • Events
    • Award entries
  • Working with your line manager on your own personal and professional development
The Person

Must haves

  • 2 years of sales experience (we will consider candidates with less/none if you have a digital marketing background)
  • Digital marketing knowledge is highly desirable but not essential as we provide intensive training
  • Experience within an agency sales role is highly desirable but not essential
  • A consultative sales approach
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong verbal communicator and confident presenter
  • Good level of written English
  • Ability to think creatively
  • High standards and the desire to deliver exceptional service
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to question and push back when required
  • Ability to quickly pick up understand new topic areas and concepts
  • Someone who wants to be social and fits with the people already here
  • Driving license and own car
  • Based/willing to work in Oxford
